Verse XIV: The Three Steps of Change
From the ➰ Book of Flows
When change stirs in the world—
be it the mending of what is broken, the guiding of another,
or the honoring of the sacred way—
it is said the Mothers favor those who move in their rhythm.
She of the Heart, who sang the first longing into being, First seems to ask:
Does this arise from care? Is there love beneath the turning?
For changes rooted in gentleness often take the deepest hold.
She of the Mind, whose thoughts shaped the unseen paths, Then may murmur:
Has truth been sought? Is the way clear beneath the flame of desire?
For understanding gives shape to what feeling alone cannot carry.
She of the Hand, whose will lit the spark of all striving,
Last might stir the question: Has the work been done? Has the longing taken form?
For even sacred intent must be made real through effort.
And so, it is whispered: the more a change reflects the rhythm of the Three,
the more the unseen tide may rise to meet it.
Those who shape through Love, Wisdom, and then Will,
walk close to the Mothers’ breath, and the world bends softly in return.
Explanation
When creating change, especially involving others, followers are guided to proceed in a specific order. First, approach change through the heart with care and emotion. Second, use wisdom and understanding. Third, take practical action. The more a change follows this pattern of heart, mind, then hand, the more likely it is to be successful and supported by the Mothers.
