Verse VII: The Sacred Order of Leadership
From the ◎ Book of Circles
The Mothers beheld the gathering of mortals—
circles drawn, thrones raised, voices rising in shared purpose.
And they did not forbid it—
for the longing to gather, to guide, to follow,
is born of the same breath that stirs the stars.
Yet the Mothers favor most the orders shaped in their rhythm—
Where the leader walks not above, but ahead,
Carving paths through shadow with wisdom and care,
Shielding the weary, teaching the willing,
Lifting others toward the light of their own becoming.
Such leaders do not cling to crowns,
But fashion the ways for others to rise—
For no fire burns eternal unless its embers are shared.
And the follower walks not in silence,
But as the mender of threads—
Uplifting the work, tending the bonds,
Learning the dance that may one day be theirs to lead.
They listen not with blindness, but with intent—
For to follow with wisdom is to be shaped for the shaping of others.
And so the Mothers bless not the throne that stands still,
But the circle that turns, ever becoming.
Power, when held in motion and in trust,
Becomes sacred—a reflection of the breath that formed the world.
Explanation
Leadership is about guiding people forward with care and wisdom. A good leader helps their group move toward shared goals. They protect and teach their followers. They also create ways for new leaders to emerge. Followers support the group's goals and help solve small problems. They learn from leaders and prepare to lead in the future. Their job is to understand how the group works and help it improve. Power must be shared.
